The Amwell Valley Vineyard produces 20 different wines from the French vinifera, French/American hybrids and fruit trees planted on 12 acres with room for expansion. Established in 1978, the 27 acre farm, located in central New Jersey, includes two processing buildings, one with a multi-purpose room looking out to its broad deck and the magnificent, eye- filling view of the vineyard as it slopes down to the farm's open field and the Sourland Mountains beyond. A third building has a skylit public tasting room, offices and a deck viewing the orchards. The wine is presently marketed in New Jersey and has six retail outlets. The three-bedroom post and beam house, screened by majestic trees, was designed to bask in the southern exposure and to take full advantage of the view. A ceramic tile floor unites the paneled rooms of a floor plan created to provide a comfortable convenience. A terrace focused on the view has an in-ground pool at one end and is sheltered by two wings of the house. |
